What pregnancy and breastfeeding do to the breasts

Lift and augmentation in one procedure
Augmentation replaces lost volume – with an implant or, depending on the starting point, with fat. The lift (mastopexy) raises the breast, removes excess skin and reshapes it. The scars lie around the areola and in the inframammary fold; with more pronounced sagging a vertical incision is also needed.

Frequently asked questions
When is the right time after pregnancy?
Once breastfeeding is over and the breasts are no longer changing. If another child is planned within the next one to two years, we tend to advise waiting until your family is complete.
Do I need a lift and an implant?
If the breasts sag and have also lost volume, yes – both in one procedure. If no volume is missing, a lift is enough; if only volume is missing, an augmentation.
Can I still breastfeed afterwards?
After an augmentation the ability to breastfeed is usually preserved. After a lift the milk supply may be lower because glandular tissue is reshaped.
When can I lift my child again?
For the first two weeks at most five kilos; from the third week your baby again, older children after about four weeks.
How long does the operation take?
The combined procedure usually takes two to three hours under general anaesthetic, with one night in the clinic.
How much does a lift with implant cost?
Breast lift from €6,500 plus implants from €1,000 – together from €7,500, including surgery, anaesthesia, the night in the clinic and all check-ups.
When can I return to work?
Desk work after a few days; we recommend taking about a week off.
When can I exercise again?
Endurance sport after about four weeks, strength training after about six weeks.
