What is different for active women
For athletes, breast augmentation is about mobility, comfort and the function of the chest muscles as well as aesthetics. The choice is usually smaller to medium implants and a position that affects the muscle as little as possible.

Above or below the muscle?
There is no one-size-fits-all. For athletic women with enough tissue and a subtle implant wish, placement between gland and pectoral muscle is often advisable. Otherwise placement beneath the muscle or the dual-plane technique, where the implant lies partly beneath and partly above the muscle, are options.

Frequently asked questions
Which implant position is better for athletes?
For patients who exercise a lot, have enough tissue of their own and no wish for a very large implant, we often recommend placement between the gland and the pectoral muscle – the muscle remains untouched. Otherwise placement beneath the muscle or the dual-plane technique are options.
Why smaller implants?
Smaller implants interfere less with training, look more elegant and suit a toned body. Many athletes choose a subtle volume.
When can I train again?
Endurance sport after about four weeks, strength training after about six weeks. Loading the chest muscles too early can disturb healing.
How long does the operation take?
Around one to two hours under general anaesthetic, with one night in the clinic.
How much does breast augmentation cost?
From €5,300, including implants, surgery, anaesthesia, the night in the clinic and all check-ups.
How long do I wear the support bra?
Two weeks day and night, then at night for a further week. After that a good sports bra is advisable for training.
