The Ellipse I²PL technology was developed in order to treat a broad spectrum of skin problems. IPL (Intensed-Pulsed-Light) is a special treatment method for skin rejuvenation and for improving the appearance of the skin. In the treatment by means of the IPL technique, age spots or pigmentation spots are exposed to high-energy intense pulsed light (IPL). The light is absorbed by the dark colour pigment of the skin (melanin) and converted into heat, while the pigment-rich cell structures of the age spots are destroyed by the correspondingly high temperature.
