Why do problem areas exist?
Problem areas exist because genetics and hormones determine where the body prefers to store fat; in these places fat remains even when you lose weight and exercise.
In women, fat typically gathers on the hips, saddlebags, inner thighs and lower abdomen; in men, on the abdomen, flanks and chest. Losing weight shrinks fat cells a little everywhere — the proportions stay the same.
Liposuction reduces the number of fat cells exactly where they bother you. Because the body forms no new fat cells after puberty, the new proportion lasts as long as your weight is stable.
Rarely just one zone
Hardly anyone has just one problem area. Abdomen, flanks and back merge into one another; saddlebags and buttocks form a single line. That is why we think in contours rather than individual spots: anyone who has only the abdomen treated often notices the flanks more afterwards.

Thighs

Flanks and waist
The fat on the sides decides whether a waist becomes visible. The video covers the transitions to the abdomen and back.
Back
Rolls of fat beneath the bra and on the lower back are often the real problem area, because you hardly see them yourself.
Knees
A small deposit on the inner knee makes the whole leg look uneven. A small procedure is often enough here.
Problem areas in men
In men the fat sits differently: abdomen, flanks and chest come first. Here too Dr. Saalabian explains on a real patient how he proceeds.
Abdomen and oblique muscles
In men, fat often sits on top of the abdominal muscles. Those who train only see the muscles beneath after liposuction.
Lower abdomen
Even in athletic men, the lower abdomen often barely responds to training.

The process in five steps
Consultation, preparation, surgery and aftercare all take place in the same building. If you wish, surgery can usually take place just a few weeks after the consultation.
- First consultation
Analysis of the problem areas, assessment of skin and connective tissue, treatment plan and written quote.
- Pre-op talk and safety check
Surgical plan, instructions, anaesthesia consultation and blood test. The results form the basis for clearance for surgery.
- Marking and surgery
Around ten minutes of marking while standing, then surgery in our own theatre suite – for as long as it takes to get the result right.
- Going home and recovering
Usually home the same day, one night with us after larger procedures. Showering from day one, desk work after two to four days.
- Compression, check-ups, result
Compression garment for two to six weeks, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area. The final result shows after three to six months.
How much does liposuction cost per area?
Liposuction at the Kuzbari Centre costs between €1,400 (axillary fat) and €10,800 (360° abdomen and flanks), depending on the area; packages of several areas cost less than the sum of the individual areas.
Prices are ranges; you receive the fixed price in writing after the first consultation. VASER and Renuvion are included where useful. The first consultation takes around 40 minutes and costs €90; if you decide to go ahead with surgery, the amount is credited in full.

Frequently asked questions about problem areas
Which areas of the body can be treated with liposuction?
Almost all of them: abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, knees, calves, upper arms, neck and chin, the male chest and — as part of the SAFE BBL — the buttocks. The first consultation clarifies which zones make sense for you.
Can several problem areas be treated in one operation?
Yes, in fact that is common. There are package prices for typical combinations. With larger volumes you stay one night with us.
Why do problem areas not disappear with exercise?
Because losing weight only shrinks fat cells and does not remove them. Where the body has genetically laid down more fat cells, more fat remains even after a diet.
Do problem areas differ between women and men?
Yes. Women tend to store fat on the hips, saddlebags and inner thighs, men on the abdomen, flanks and chest. The videos on this page show the typical zones for both sexes.
Will the fat come back somewhere else?
Fat cells that are removed do not grow back. If you gain a lot of weight, the remaining cells grow everywhere — which is why a stable weight matters.
How long does the operation take?
That depends on the number of areas and the volume; there is no fixed time, we operate until the result is right. Most procedures are carried out as outpatient procedures under twilight sedation.
When will I be back on my feet?
Socially presentable after about two days, desk work after two to four days, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area. You wear the compression garment for two to six weeks.
What if the skin is loose?
With slight excess skin, Renuvion tightens the tissue from within. With marked excess skin, for example after major weight loss, a lift is the right approach, often combined with liposuction.
How much does liposuction of a problem area cost?
Between €1,400 and €10,800 depending on the area, for example abdomen €4,600 to €7,900 or neck €2,800 to €3,900. You receive the fixed price after the first consultation; payment in instalments over up to 60 months is possible.
