Liposuction, lift or CoolSculpting — which is right?
The rule of thumb: if the problem is fat, liposuction helps; if it is excess skin, a lift is needed; if the deposits are small and you want to avoid surgery altogether, CoolSculpting may be an option.
Often it is a mix. After pregnancies or major weight loss — including with weight-loss injections — both frequently remain: fat deposits and skin that has lost its elasticity. In that case we combine liposuction and a lift in one procedure.

Nadja: lift, liposuction and body contouring
Nadja lost a lot of weight through exercise and a conscious diet — she was happy with her weight, but not with her reflection. With a combination of a body lift, liposuction and body contouring, Dr. Saalabian shaped her figure.
How liposuction works
Consultation, preparation, surgery and aftercare all take place in the same building. If you wish, surgery can usually take place just a few weeks after the consultation.
- First consultation
Analysis of the problem areas, assessment of skin and connective tissue, treatment plan and written quote.
- Pre-op talk and safety check
Surgical plan, instructions, anaesthesia consultation and blood test. The results form the basis for clearance for surgery.
- Marking and surgery
Around ten minutes of marking while standing, then surgery in our own theatre suite – for as long as it takes to get the result right.
- Going home and recovering
Usually home the same day, one night with us after larger procedures. Showering from day one, desk work after two to four days.
- Compression, check-ups, result
Compression garment for two to six weeks, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area. The final result shows after three to six months.

Frequently asked questions about body contouring
Liposuction or a body lift — which do I need?
If it is fat with elastic skin, liposuction is enough. If skin hangs, for example after pregnancies or major weight loss, a lift is needed, often combined with liposuction. The examination at the first consultation clarifies this.
Is CoolSculpting an alternative to liposuction?
For small to medium deposits, and for anyone who does not want surgery, yes. CoolSculpting usually needs several sessions and is less precisely predictable; liposuction generally achieves the result in one procedure.
Who operates at the Kuzbari Centre?
Liposuction and lifts are performed by Dr. Ali Saalabian and Dr. Shawqi Arafat, both specialists in Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The SAFE BBL is performed exclusively by Dr. Saalabian.
Where do the procedures take place?
Every procedure, small or large, takes place in the three in-house operating theatres of the Kuzbari Centre at Seitzergasse 2-4, 1010 Vienna.
Do I have to stay overnight after liposuction?
Usually not: liposuction is generally an outpatient procedure. For larger amounts and for lifts you stay one night or longer on our ward.
How quickly will I be back to everyday life?
After liposuction most people are socially presentable after about two days and back at their desk after two to four days. Recovery after lifts takes longer.
Does body contouring help after weight loss with weight-loss injections?
Yes. After major weight loss, fat deposits and loose skin often remain. A combination of liposuction and a lift can restore the contour.
How much does the first consultation cost?
The first consultation for liposuction and body lifts takes around 40 minutes and costs €90. If you decide to go ahead with surgery, the amount is credited in full.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Through Kuzbari Finance the cost can be spread over up to 60 months, at 9.99% APR.
