VASER liposuction
In VASER liposuction, ultrasound loosens the fat cells from the tissue before they are removed. This makes work in firm, fibrous tissue and in small zones easier. VASER is a tool in the surgeon’s hands, not a method of its own — and with us it is included in the price of every liposuction where it makes sense.

What is VASER liposuction?
VASER stands for “Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance”: a fine probe emits ultrasound that loosens the fat cells from their surroundings; the liquefied fat is then removed with thin cannulas.
Before the ultrasound, a tumescent solution is introduced. It numbs the tissue, keeps bleeding low and conducts the sound energy. Vessels, nerves and connective tissue are firmer than fat and less affected by the ultrasound — which is why VASER is considered gentle on tissue.
In the end it is not the device that decides the result but the planning: which zones, how much fat, which transitions. VASER makes some of these steps easier.
When we use VASER
Ultrasound is especially helpful where the fat is firm and fibrous: on the back, the flanks, the male chest and in revision procedures. VASER is also used for fine contours in HD body contouring.
In soft tissue with easily loosened fat, ultrasound is often not needed. We then work with power-assisted liposuction (PAL), which uses no heat.
What VASER can — and cannot — do
VASER loosens fat gently and precisely but does not replace skin tightening: in studies, the additional skin tightening hoped for is small compared with regular liposuction.
Because the ultrasound generates heat, great care is needed when using it. Experience with the device ensures that the energy stays in the fat and does not reach the skin. That is why we use VASER selectively and not automatically in every procedure.
If the skin is too loose after liposuction, Renuvion comes into play: helium plasma tightens the tissue from within. More about Renuvion

Which areas are treated with VASER
Because the probe is fine, VASER is suitable for large and small areas — from the waist to the jawline.

Liposuction with VASER: before and after
VASER was used in these cases by Dr. Ali Saalabian, each combined with Renuvion. The photos show what was possible in a particular starting situation, not what is possible for you.
- Case 39409
before
after
The patient was bothered by her abdomen and flanks. Both were treated with liposuction, combined with VASER and Renuvion.
- Case 40319
before
after
Despite training the patient wanted more volume in her buttocks. Liposuction of the abdomen and flanks with VASER and Renuvion, fat transfer into the buttocks (SAFE BBL).

Dr. Saalabian and his assistants gave me a good feeling from the first consultation to the final check-up. Very competent, empathetic and uncomplicated. The operation and the result exceeded my expectations.
Who operates
VASER is used by Dr. Ali Saalabian, whose range explicitly includes ultrasound-assisted liposuction. At the Kuzbari Centre, Dr. Shawqi Arafat also performs liposuction and lifts. The surgeon who advises you also operates on you.

Time, not time pressure
Because the Kuzbari Centre has its own operating theatres, there is no time pressure. Patience matters especially with ultrasound: the energy is dosed zone by zone until the fat is loosened.
The process in five steps
Consultation, preparation, surgery and aftercare all take place in the same building. If you wish, surgery can usually take place just a few weeks after the consultation.
- First consultation
Analysis of the problem areas, assessment of skin and connective tissue, treatment plan and written quote.
- Pre-op talk and safety check
Surgical plan, instructions, anaesthesia consultation and blood test. The results form the basis for clearance for surgery.
- Marking and surgery
Around ten minutes of marking while standing, then surgery in our own theatre suite – for as long as it takes to get the result right.
- Going home and recovering
Usually home the same day, one night with us after larger procedures. Showering from day one, desk work after two to four days.
- Compression, check-ups, result
Compression garment for two to six weeks, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area. The final result shows after three to six months.
- Before surgery the zones are marked while you stand; this takes around ten minutes.
- After the outpatient procedure you recover in the recovery room, then go home.
- Compression garment day and night for two to six weeks.
- Showering from the first day, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area.
How much does VASER liposuction cost?
VASER costs nothing extra with us: the price depends on the area, for example €4,600 – 7,900 for the abdomen or €3,800 – 6,100 for the saddlebags, with VASER and Renuvion included.
The first consultation takes around 40 minutes and costs €90; if you decide to go ahead with surgery, the amount is credited in full.
- Liposuction, flanks / love handles€4,600 – 7,900
- Liposuction 360°, abdomen + flanks€6,800 – 10,800

Frequently asked questions about VASER liposuction
What is the difference between VASER and classic liposuction?
With VASER the fat is loosened with ultrasound before it is removed. It is then removed through fine cannulas as in any liposuction. Ultrasound makes work in firm, fibrous tissue easier.
Does VASER tighten the skin?
Hardly. In studies, the additional skin tightening hoped for is small compared with regular liposuction. For loose skin we use Renuvion or recommend a lift.
Is VASER safe?
Yes, when used with experience. Because ultrasound generates heat, great care is needed; that is why we use VASER selectively and not in every procedure.
Is VASER painful?
The procedure is performed under twilight sedation or local anaesthesia and is painless. Afterwards the treated areas feel like strong muscle soreness for a few days.
How long does the operation take?
That depends on the extent; there is no fixed time, we operate until the result is right. Marking while standing takes around ten minutes beforehand.
Do I have to stay overnight?
Usually not; the procedure is generally outpatient. For larger amounts, from around four litres, we recommend a night with us.
When will I be back on my feet?
Most people are socially presentable after about two days, desk work is possible after two to four days, exercise from two weeks, depending on the area.
When will I see the result?
A change is visible straight away but masked by swelling. The final result shows after three to six months.
Does VASER cost extra?
No. VASER and Renuvion are included in the price of liposuction where they make sense. The price depends on the area and extent.
Which areas are suitable for VASER?
Abdomen, waist, flanks, back, thighs, arms, male chest, neck and chin. VASER is particularly helpful in firm, fibrous fatty tissue.
