What bothered the patient

The patient has a very positive attitude to life, but was increasingly troubled by the age-related changes to her face. It bothered her that on certain days she was particularly puffy and looked like a ‘prizefighter’. It was important to her that after a facelift she should look ‘fresher, not different’.

Surgical techniques used

The surgical plan was drawn up together with the patient, after a close review of photographs from her youth. An eyelid lift, an extended lower eyelid lift and a fat transfer in the region of the cheekbones and the lid-cheek junction were carried out. The face was tightened by means of an extended deep plane facelift. The neck was contoured and tightened by means of an open neck lift.

What bothered the patient

The patient was troubled by the age-related changes to her face. She was bothered by the excess skin and the pronounced skin folds on the cheek, the sunken contour in the region of the cheekbones and the cheeks themselves, as well as the jowls with the blurred jawline.

Surgical techniques used

A SMAS facelift with restoration of the volume of the face by means of a transfer of the patient’s own fatty tissue.

What bothered the patient

The patient is a dynamic person who enjoys life. She was troubled by the age-related changes to her face and neck. She said that at every glance in the mirror she unconsciously pulled her cheeks to the side with her fingers. She wanted a correction of the slackening of the tissue on the cheeks, of the marionette lines, of the slackening of the skin on the neck and of the slackening of the eyelids. The patient did not want too strong a lift of the outer eyebrows, so that she would not feel like a stranger to herself. If at all possible the patient wanted all the age-related changes that troubled her corrected in one operation.

Surgical techniques used

Extended deep plane SMAS lift. Open neck lift. Slight lateral brow lift. Transfer of the patient’s own fatty tissue into the face. Upper eyelid lift. Extended lower eyelid lift. Improvement of the chin contour with a silicone implant.

Since her youth the patient had a double chin that troubled her. It increased over the years and the angle between the neck and the chin gradually disappeared. She also wished for a facelift with greater visibility of the jawline.

What bothered the patient

The patient was troubled by the age-related changes to her face. She found it hard to describe which areas bothered her particularly. She wanted an improvement of the excess skin, but also wanted a lift of the outer eyebrows. Compared with the photographs from her youth, the patient had evidently lost a great deal of volume in her face over the years. The patient had already had a lower eyelid lift, but the tissue of the lower eyelids was still slack.

What bothered the patient

The patient was troubled above all by the slackening of the skin on the cheeks and the neck as well as the sunken contour in the region of the cheekbones.

Surgical techniques used

An extended deep plane facelift was carried out together with an open neck lift. At the same time the patient’s own fatty tissue was transferred to correct the loss of volume in the central region of the face, and to the lips as well. Through the combination of the lift with the fat transfer, the attractive radiance of the face could be restored.

What bothered the patient

The patient was troubled by the age-related changes to her face and neck. A thread lift that had been carried out elsewhere brought no satisfactory improvement of the slackening of the tissue. The upper eyelids had been lifted elsewhere 3 years before. The patient said that she wished for the facelift for herself, for her sense of life. She said that she would like to enjoy looking at her face in the mirror in the morning again.

An extended deep plane facelift and an open neck lift were carried out. At the same time the patient’s own fatty tissue was transferred in order to correct the loss of volume in the face.
