Nasal tip correction
Does your nasal tip bother you? Perhaps it looks too wide, too bulbous, too droopy or simply out of keeping with your features. Details like these can affect self-confidence — a targeted nasal tip correction can change that. At the Kuzbari Centre we understand that every nose is unique.
- Refine, lift, shape
- Cartilage-supported stabilisation
- Operation 1 to 4 hours
- 3D simulation beforehand
That is why we rely on individual solutions that underline your natural beauty without looking artificial. Our patients come to us with a wide range of concerns: some wish for a finer, more defined tip, others for a slight lift or the correction of asymmetries. What they have in common is the wish for a result that complements their personality.
The nasal tip is the most mobile and at the same time the most delicate part of the nose. It is not made of bone but of two paired cartilages that stand together like two arches, covered by connective tissue, muscle and skin. How these arches are shaped, how far apart they stand and how firmly they are held determines the width, definition and height of the tip. This is precisely why the nasal tip is the part of the nose where millimetres decide the expression of a face.

Nasal surgery is one of our focal points
At the Kuzbari Centre, Dr. Christoph Grill and DDr. Jessica Wittmann work exclusively on facial surgery; alongside them is Univ. Doz. Dr. Rafic Kuzbari, the founder of the centre. This specialisation matters particularly for rhinoplasty: it calls for the highest degree of precision and years of experience, since aesthetics and function have to be brought into harmony in a single operation.
From the initial consultation with 3D simulation through the operation in our own operating theatres to the aftercare, we look after everything so that your nasal tip correction is safe, precise and as pleasant as possible.
Why a nasal tip correction?
The nasal tip is a central element of your face. A tip that is too wide, droopy or asymmetric can disturb the harmony of your features. Often a hump, a deviation of the nose or another issue should be taken into account and corrected during the same tip correction in order to achieve a harmonious result. In some cases, however, a targeted correction of the tip alone is enough to improve your appearance noticeably. At the Kuzbari Centre we rely on subtle changes that bring out your natural beauty.

The nasal tip is supported, not just shaped
Shaping a nasal tip is one thing. Holding it in its new shape is another — and that is what decides how a result looks in five, ten or twenty years. The tip has no bony framework; it hangs from cartilages, ligaments and the columella. If it is worked on without regard to these mechanics, the tip can give way over time.
We therefore stabilise the nasal tip using modern cartilage-supported techniques. This considerably reduces the risk of drooping of the nasal tip over the years.
The cartilage for this comes from your own body, usually from the septum and, where needed, from the ear. It is cut into fine struts that support the tip from within — much as tent poles carry the canvas. Nothing of this is visible from outside; some patients notice a somewhat firmer tip in the first months, which comes to feel more natural over time.
| Concern | What happens | What we watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Narrowing the tip | The tip cartilages are brought closer together with sutures and shaped. | The cartilage is shaped, not weakened — otherwise the support is missing later. |
| Lifting the tip | The cartilages are shortened or repositioned; where necessary the columella is supported. | The lift must not make the nostrils too visible. |
| Projecting the tip | A cartilage support brings the tip further forward. | With thin skin the transition has to be shaped particularly softly. |
| Evening out asymmetry | Fine cartilage grafts compensate for differences in shape. | No face is perfectly symmetrical; the aim is balance. |
| Drooping when smiling | A small muscle at the columella is divided. | The procedure is small; the effect shows itself above all in movement. |
Open or closed?
Working on the nasal tip requires a clear view. With the open technique a small incision on the columella is added, through which both tip cartilages become directly visible — this makes precise shaping and the placing of supports easier. With the closed technique all incisions lie inside the nose; it is suitable for manageable corrections. Which technique makes sense is decided by the findings. After healing, the scar on the columella is as a rule barely visible.
And the nasal bridge?
Tip and bridge together form the profile line. If only the tip is lifted, an existing hump can suddenly stand out more clearly. If the bridge has to be worked on as well, we work a great deal with the modern nose-bridge-preserving technique, known as dorsal preservation, and with hybrid techniques. The natural nasal bridge is preserved instead of being removed and rebuilt. More on the nasal hump correction
The course of your nasal tip correction
Consultation, preparation, operation and aftercare all take place in the Seitzergasse, with the same people.
- Initial consultation: we take our time for you
A nasal tip correction is a highly precise procedure that requires careful planning. This is why we take over an hour in the initial consultation to understand your wishes and needs exactly. This conversation is the first step towards your new nose.
- Preparation: everything for your safety
Medical examinations and laboratory values, the discussion with the anaesthetist about the right form of anaesthesia, and a detailed surgical plan based on the 3D simulation. In addition, clear instructions on how to prepare for the day of surgery.
- The operation: in safe hands
Before the operation your surgeon and the anaesthetist come to your room. The operation takes one to four hours. Our specialists use cartilage modelling and special suture methods to shape and support the nasal tip precisely. Because the operating theatres belong to us, we operate without time pressure — for as long as it takes for the result to be right.
- Recovery room and patient room
Immediately after the operation we look in on you in the recovery room. Depending on the method you wear a small nasal splint or plaster that stabilises the new tip. Nasal packing is not necessary.
- Follow-up talk and discharge
The next morning Dr. Grill or DDr. Wittmann holds a detailed follow-up talk with you, examines the nose and discusses how things went. You can leave our centre before 10 a.m. You are given your surgeon's number.
- The course of healing
Swelling and discolouration reach their peak after two to three days and then subside. We remove the splint or plaster after about ten days. You are fit for work after three to seven days and fit to socialise after one to three weeks.
- The fine shape of the tip
The nasal tip is the area whose swelling lasts longest. The final result shows itself after six to twelve months, in rare cases with very thick skin only after eighteen months, because the skin needs longer to settle onto the new framework. All check-up appointments up to that point are included.

What happens in the initial consultation
- Getting to know one another: we listen in order to understand your goals and your concerns.
- Detailed analysis: together with Dr. Grill or DDr. Wittmann we analyse your facial features and the anatomy of your nose, including the tip cartilages, the columella and the thickness of the skin.
- 3D simulation with Vectra technology: we scan your nose and create a simulation of your possible new tip — in profile, from the front and from below.
- Before-and-after comparisons: we show you photographs of patients with similar starting points who have been operated on.
- Explanation of the procedure: we explain step by step how your tip correction will proceed and answer all questions about technique, healing and costs.
- Time for your decision: we will never push you into an operation.

The tip from three angles
Our 3D simulation shows your future nose not only in profile but also from the front and from below. You therefore see your possible result from exactly the angles from which others see you every day — and before the operation we talk about the same picture.
With the nasal tip that is particularly helpful. The view from below in particular, which you hardly ever see in the mirror, reveals a great deal about symmetry, width and the shape of the nostrils.
The greatest possible safety
Your safety has top priority at the Kuzbari Centre. We have three modern operating theatres equipped specifically for aesthetic procedures. Our team works exclusively in aesthetic medicine. As a licensed hospital we are inspected several times a year by independent bodies.
Our own hygiene team works continuously on implementing hygiene standards, while a quality management team keeps improving our processes and structures. All materials used are selected on the basis of scientific studies.
Results
Before-and-after photographs show what was possible with one particular starting point. They do not show what is possible for you — that requires an examination.

The advantages of a nasal tip correction at the Kuzbari Centre
Who operates on your nasal tip
Whoever advises you also operates on you — and sees you again at the check-ups.

To the profileCosts
The costs depend on the scope of the procedure. Refining the tip on its own is the simpler case; if the bridge or the septum are worked on at the same time, the effort increases. After the examination you receive a written cost estimate.
- Initial consultation and 3D simulationincluded
- Operation, anaesthesia and assisting teamincluded
- Overnight stay and cateringincluded
- All check-up appointmentsincluded
An initial consultation with three-dimensional simulation, a technique that suits your nose, and an operating time determined by the findings — this effort is the reason why a rhinoplasty has its price here. It is also the reason why the result is meant to last: a lifetime, not a few years.
The costs can be spread over up to five years through Kuzbari Finance, at an annual percentage rate of 9.99 %.
Frequently asked questions about nasal tip correction
Is a nasal tip correction painful?
The operation itself is painless thanks to the anaesthesia. After the procedure the pain is usually mild — often only a slight feeling of pressure or a headache, easily controlled with painkillers.
Does the nasal tip droop again over the years?
We stabilise the nasal tip using modern cartilage-supported techniques. This considerably reduces the risk of drooping of the nasal tip over the years.
Where does the cartilage for the support come from?
From your own body, usually from the septum. If that is not enough, cartilage from the ear is an option and, where more is needed, from a rib. Your own cartilage is not rejected and grows together with the surrounding tissue.
Is a nasal tip correction on its own enough?
Sometimes yes. Frequently, however, a hump, a deviation or the length of the nose should be taken into account in the same procedure, because tip and bridge together form the profile line. What makes sense in your case is shown by the examination with the 3D simulation.
Are there any scars?
With the open technique a small scar remains on the columella, barely visible after healing. In some cases we use the closed technique, where all incisions lie inside the nose — then no visible scars remain.
How long does healing take?
Most people are fit for work after three to seven days and fit to socialise after one to three weeks. After four to six weeks you can resume sport. The final result is visible after six to twelve months, with very thick skin occasionally only after eighteen months.
Why does the nasal tip stay swollen for so long?
The skin on the nasal tip is thicker and richer in sebaceous glands than on the bridge, and it needs time to settle onto the new framework. This is why the tip looks wider and feels firmer in the first weeks than it will be in the end. That is part of the healing process.
Can breathing be affected?
Our specialists take care to preserve or improve nasal function. Where needed, a correction of the septum can be integrated. Temporarily, breathing is restricted by swelling of the mucous membrane; that is part of the healing process.
What if my tip only droops when I smile?
Then a small muscle at the columella is usually responsible, pulling the tip downwards as you smile. It can be divided. The procedure is small, and its effect shows itself above all in movement — something we can demonstrate on your own recordings during the initial consultation.
Do I need nasal packing?
No. At the Kuzbari Centre nasal packing is not necessary. After the operation you wear a nasal splint or a nasal plaster for around ten days.
How much does a nasal tip correction cost?
A rhinoplasty starts at 9,350 euros, everything included. The costs depend on the scope of the procedure. For a previously operated nose the price is from 9,950 euros, from 10,900 euros or from 11,900 euros, depending on complexity. After the examination you receive a written cost estimate.
Is the result permanent?
The result is stable in the long term; that is precisely what the cartilage-supported stabilisation of the tip is aimed at. Slight changes through ageing are possible but hardly affect the result.
Can this be done without surgery?
For very small irregularities a treatment with fillers is an option in selected cases. It only works for a limited time and is not suitable for narrowing, lifting or supporting the tip. In the consultation we clarify openly whether this is an option for you.
