Your wish for a symmetrical nose

Nostril correction

Do you feel uncomfortable because your nostrils look too wide, asymmetric or out of keeping with your face? Perhaps you experience your nose as too dominant, although it is only the shape or width of the nostrils that bothers you. A targeted nostril correction can change that.

  • Narrow, even out, adapt
  • Incisions at the base of the nostril
  • Operation 1 to 4 hours
  • 3D simulation beforehand

At the Kuzbari Centre we understand that the nostrils play a decisive part in the harmony of your face. That is why we rely on individual solutions that underline your natural beauty without looking artificial.

Our patients come to us with a wide range of concerns: some wish for narrower nostrils, others for the correction of asymmetries or an adjustment that makes their nose look more proportionate. Careful analysis often shows that the tip or other parts of the nose should be corrected as well so that the result is coherent. The aesthetic goal is worked out with you on the 3D model.

Nasal surgery is one of our focal points

At the Kuzbari Centre, Dr. Christoph Grill and DDr. Jessica Wittmann work exclusively on facial surgery; alongside them is Univ. Doz. Dr. Rafic Kuzbari, the founder of the centre. This specialisation matters particularly for rhinoplasty: it calls for the highest degree of precision and years of experience, since aesthetics and function have to be brought into harmony in a single operation.

From the initial consultation with 3D simulation through the operation in our own operating theatres to the aftercare, we look after everything so that your nostril correction is safe, precise and as pleasant as possible.

Why a nostril correction?

The nostrils frame your nose and influence how balanced your face appears. Nostrils that are too wide, asymmetric or out of proportion can disturb the harmony of your features and make the nose seem more dominant than you would wish. A nostril correction makes it possible to adjust these details precisely, creating an aesthetic, natural profile and a natural view from the front. Whether it is about narrowing the nostrils, correcting asymmetries or adapting them to your features — at the Kuzbari Centre we rely on subtle changes.

One distinction matters here, between two things that feel similar from outside but have different causes: the nostrils themselves may be wide — in which case the base of the nose stands too far apart. Or the nasal openings are large and widely flared while the nostril walls remain thin. Each calls for a different placing of the incision. Which applies to you is something we check in the initial consultation on the nose itself and on your 3D images from below.

How we proceed

The nostril correction is the operation on the nose in which the least tissue is moved and the most thought is given to where the scar will lie. The incisions sit in the fold where the nostril meets the cheek, or at the transition to the floor of the nose — where the skin already makes a bend and a fine line later hardly shows.

What is removed is a very small, precisely measured wedge of tissue. The wound is then closed in layers so that the rim of the nostril does not retract and the arch stays round. How much tissue is taken is decided at the end of the operation, not before it: the nostrils are adjusted only once the tip is in place — otherwise the proportions do not work.

Why the nostrils are rarely corrected on their own

A wide nose rarely results from the nostrils alone. Often the tip cartilages, the width of the bony bridge or a low-set tip play a part. If only the nostrils are narrowed, the nose looks squat rather than slim. This is why we assess the nose as a whole and tell you openly if a nostril correction alone will not produce the result you have in mind.

If the tip is worked on at the same time, we stabilise it using modern cartilage-supported techniques. This considerably reduces the risk of drooping of the nasal tip over the years. If the bridge also has to be changed, we work a great deal with the modern nose-bridge-preserving technique, known as dorsal preservation, and with hybrid techniques. To the aesthetic rhinoplasty

The course of your nostril correction

Consultation, preparation, operation and aftercare all take place in the Seitzergasse, with the same people.

  1. Step 1 · over an hourInitial consultation: we take our time for you

A nostril correction is a highly precise procedure that requires careful planning. This is why we take over an hour in the initial consultation to understand your wishes and needs exactly. This conversation is the first step towards your new nostrils.

  2. Step 2 · before the day of surgeryPreparation: everything for your safety

Medical examinations and laboratory values, where appropriate a check of nasal function, the discussion with the anaesthetist about the form of anaesthesia, and a detailed surgical plan based on the 3D simulation.

  3. Step 3 · the day of surgeryThe operation: in safe hands

Before the operation your surgeon and — unless only local anaesthesia is used — the anaesthetist come to your room. The operation takes one to four hours. Our specialists remove small, precisely measured areas of skin or tissue at the base of the nostril and close the wound in layers in order to narrow or even out the nostrils. In doing so they take care to preserve breathing. Because the operating theatres belong to us, we operate without time pressure — for as long as it takes for the result to be right.

  4. Step 4 · afterwardsRecovery room and discharge

Immediately after the operation we look in on you in the recovery room. With local anaesthesia you can leave the centre the same day; with general anaesthesia the next morning before 10 a.m. You are given your surgeon's number for times outside consulting hours.

  5. Step 5 · week 1Sutures and early healing

Swelling and discolouration reach their peak after two to three days and then subside quickly. The sutures are removed after about seven days.

  6. Step 6 · week 1 to 3Back to everyday life

Most people are fit for work after three to seven days and fit to socialise after one to three weeks. For a completely inconspicuous result — the fresh scar can be covered with make-up — allow rather two to three weeks.

  7. Step 7 · month 3 to 12Scar maturation

We accompany you with regular aftercare appointments. The final result shows itself after six to twelve months, once scar maturation is complete. All check-up appointments are included.

The view the mirror does not give you

Our 3D simulation shows your future nose not only in profile but also from the front and from below. You therefore see your possible result from exactly the angles from which others see you every day — and before the operation we talk about the same picture.

For the nostrils this is the decisive view. Only from below does it become clear whether the width really comes from the nostrils or from the tip, and whether both sides are built alike.

The greatest possible safety

Your safety has top priority at the Kuzbari Centre. We have three modern operating theatres equipped specifically for aesthetic procedures. Our team works exclusively in aesthetic medicine. As a licensed hospital we are inspected several times a year by independent bodies.

Our own hygiene team works continuously on implementing hygiene standards, while a quality management team keeps improving our processes and structures. All materials used, such as suture material or tissue adhesive, are selected on the basis of scientific studies.

Costs

The costs depend on the scope of the procedure. A nostril correction on its own is the smaller operation; combined with a correction of the tip or the bridge, the effort increases. After the examination you receive a written cost estimate.

Rhinoplasty, first operation from 9,350 €everything included
  • Initial consultation and 3D simulationincluded
  • Operation, anaesthesia and assisting teamincluded
  • Overnight stay and catering, where neededincluded
  • All check-up appointmentsincluded
For a previously operated nose the price is from 9,950 €, from 10,900 € or from 11,900 €, depending on complexity. All prices in detail

An initial consultation with three-dimensional simulation, a technique that suits your nose, and an operating time determined by the findings — this effort is the reason why a rhinoplasty has its price here. It is also the reason why the result is meant to last: a lifetime, not a few years.

Payment by instalments

The costs can be spread over up to five years through Kuzbari Finance, at an annual percentage rate of 9.99 %.

Frequently asked questions about nostril correction

Is a nostril correction painful?

After the procedure the pain is usually mild — often only a slight feeling of tension or pressure, easily controlled with painkillers. During the operation you feel nothing under sedation or general anaesthesia; with local anaesthesia alone, only the prick of the injection.

Are there any scars?

The incisions are usually placed at the base of the nostrils, where the nostril meets the cheek. After healing they are mostly barely visible. Our specialists place great value on fine incisions and closure in layers in order to keep the scar as inconspicuous as possible.

How long does healing take?

The sutures are removed after about seven days. Most people are fit for work after three to seven days and fit to socialise after one to three weeks. After four to six weeks you can resume sport. The final result is visible after six to twelve months, once scar maturation is complete.

Can breathing be affected?

Our specialists take care to preserve nasal function. The nostril correction is carried out in such a way that the airways are not restricted. Where the nostrils already collapse on inhaling, they can be stabilised in the same procedure.

Is a nostril correction on its own enough?

Sometimes yes. Often, though, the width of a nose comes not only from the nostrils but also from the tip cartilages or the bony bridge. If only the nostrils are narrowed, the nose looks squat rather than slim. What makes sense in your case is shown by the examination with the 3D simulation.

Can the procedure be reversed?

No. Tissue that has been removed cannot be brought back. This is why we work rather conservatively: a second, small step after complete healing is preferable to a nose that has become too narrow.

Which anaesthesia is used?

Depending on the scope, local anaesthesia with or without sedation, or general anaesthesia. Which form is suitable for you is decided by your surgeon and discussed with our anaesthetist before the procedure.

Do I have to stay overnight?

For a nostril correction on its own under local anaesthesia you can leave the centre the same day. If general anaesthesia is used, or if the tip and bridge are worked on at the same time, you stay one night in a patient room of your own.

How much does a nostril correction cost?

A rhinoplasty starts at 9,350 euros, everything included. The costs depend on the scope of the procedure. For a previously operated nose the price is from 9,950 euros, from 10,900 euros or from 11,900 euros, depending on complexity. After the examination you receive a written cost estimate.

Is the result permanent?

The result is stable in the long term. Slight changes through ageing are possible but hardly affect the result.

From what age is a nostril correction possible?

The prerequisite is that nasal growth is complete. In addition, good general health and realistic expectations of the result are required.

Can this be done without surgery?

No. The width of the nostrils cannot be reduced with fillers or other non-surgical methods — those add volume rather than removing it. For small unevennesses at other points of the nose, a filler treatment can make sense in selected cases.
