Chemical peels are among the oldest methods of aesthetic medicine. Cleopatra already refined her skin with baths of goat's milk – in other words a classic full-body peel with lactic acid.
The foundation stone for the modern dermatological peel comes from Austria, however. In the 19th century the famous Viennese dermatologist Ferdinand Hebra developed peeling techniques against freckles and melasma. Today, with the Kuzbari Centre, an Austrian institution is once again aiming for a world-leading role in the field of peels.
Not every peel is the same. The range extends from harmless, gentle exfoliating courses through to deep procedures in the operating theatre with a high potential for change. As the name already reveals, the Lunchtime Peel is a short, very superficial peel. Superficial flakes of skin are removed with a low-concentration acid and the circulation is stimulated. The Lunchtime Peel is designed to refresh the skin for 1-2 weeks and is therefore also readily carried out in preparation for special events. The peel takes only 15 minutes: the skin is cleansed and then the low-concentration peeling substance is applied. Patients sometimes feel a slight tingling in the process. Since the skin is very receptive during this time, this state can be used to introduce vitamins and anti-ageing agents. The discreet redness is visible for only a few hours and can easily be covered with make-up, which means that you are socially presentable again immediately.

This peel is designed specially for a weekend at home without social obligations. A superficial peel brings a refreshing effect that is somewhat stronger and more lasting than with the Lunchtime Peel. The Weekend Peel is carried out on Thursday afternoon, Friday is mostly without any great restriction and a light peeling of the skin follows at the weekend. The Weekend Peel removes flakes of skin, refreshes the complexion and provides a fresh radiance. In combination with creams and serums containing active agents the effect can be optimally reinforced.

With the Anti-Aging Medical Peel, a controlled cell renewal including a lifting effect is brought about under anaesthetic by means of various acids and active agents. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is one of the most frequently used substances here. Depending on the concentration, all depths of the peel can be achieved. TCA reacts with proteins and thereby leads to a controlled cell renewal. It is used in rejuvenation for fine wrinkles, pigment irregularities and excessive keratinisation.
