This is how your tan lasts longer
Dr. Elke Janig has the tips for it.

Summer may slowly be drawing to a close, but we would like to take that wonderful holiday tan with us into the autumn. Dr. Elke Janig, specialist in dermatology and venereology at the Kuzbari Centre, has the best tips for this:
Avoid the sauna
Using the sauna is basically healthy, because it strengthens the immune system. But for keeping your tan the heat is no advantage.
The strong heat stimulates the melanocytes, which are responsible for the colouring of the skin. As a result, the lovely complexion unfortunately fades more quickly.
Hands off acne products
Acne products contain acids such as acetic acid or lactic acid. These are excellent against blemishes, but not for a long-lasting summer glow.
The reason for this is that the acids have a bleaching effect on the skin, which means that not only the small spots but also the tan quickly disappear again.
No long baths
Baths that are too long are likewise not ideal if you want to stay tanned for as long as possible. The skin is indeed well moisturised in the first instance – but afterwards it dries out all the more quickly.
This is mainly because warm water washes the lipids out of the uppermost layers of the skin. The skin dries out, which makes it flaky.
Lukewarm showers or only short baths that are not too hot are better.
Avoid swimming in chlorinated water
Chlorinated water dries the skin out just as much. Dry Skin flakes more quickly and you stay tanned for less time.
I recommend using an intensive moisturising lotion after bathing in the swimming pool.
But as is mostly the case: nothing lasts for ever. And so the golden shimmer disappears after 28 days at the latest.
