When can I go swimming again after breast surgery?
An operation also involves a certain amount of downtime, and that applies not only to working life but also to private life. A breast augmentation should therefore be well planned and coordinated with other plans, such as a beach holiday.

Because water is a delicate subject in the first weeks after breast surgery. In the following article we tell you from when you can shower again and bathe without restriction.
Showering after breast augmentation
After a breast augmentation and a stay in the clinic, patients like to shower at home – but is that possible? Yes. Special dressings are applied to the wounds directly after the operation, with which patients can shower normally again from the first day after the operation, although only for 3-4 minutes; hair should be washed separately, because as a rule there is not enough time for that as well.
Can I also take a bath with the dressings on?
Taking a proper full bath is only possible again after 4 weeks. Four weeks after the operation you no longer have to wear dressings, so the scars are clearly visible. You should limit the duration of the full bath to a maximum of 15 minutes and check the scars afterwards.
Swimming on holiday after breast augmentation
With swimming, as with the full bath, you should wait at least 4 weeks and limit the time spent in the water to a maximum of 15 minutes at a stretch. It is therefore advisable to bear this in mind when planning a possible holiday. For bathing in sea water or chlorinated water the rule is: go into the water for a maximum of 15 minutes, then rinse off with fresh water and put on a dry bikini/swimming costume. The scar should remain completely protected from the sun for the whole of the first year after the operation.
