Asked and answered - your questions on facial rejuvenation
Wrinkle treatments are among the most popular and most frequent procedures in aesthetic medicine. That is why there are also a great many questions, rumours and fears about their use. The most common questions and answers.

With over 100 million patients worldwide, preparations under trade names such as Azzallure are among the most popular substances for treating wrinkles. And rightly so, because used correctly they smooth the skin and provide a youthful appearance. Many myths and rumours surround these treatments and unsettle a great many people. Here are the most frequent questions we are asked.
· Does a wrinkle treatment harden the treated area and paralyse the expression?
No. The agents used do paralyse the muscle into which they are injected, but with correct application and dosage a natural result is achieved; the skin looks smoothed but not immobile. Nor does anything harden - the area remains supple.
The treating doctor also holds an advisory discussion with the patient in which the strength of the effect can be adapted entirely to their wishes.
· The agents used are only used for the treatment of wrinkles.
That too is not entirely correct. It is indeed one of the most frequent treatments, but it is also very often used to model facial features, for example by applying it in the area of the eyebrows, cheeks, jaw and neck. Besides aesthetic medicine, some preparations can also be used to treat headaches, depression and to reduce sweating.
· Is the treatment painful?
The puncture is almost painless, since we use very fine instruments. As the injection is into the muscle, however, most people find the treatment somewhat unpleasant. The pain passes quickly again, though.
· Can my face be permanently paralysed as a result of the treatment?
No, that is not possible. The treatment leads to a temporary relaxation of the muscle which causes the skin to smooth out.
· Am I poisoning my body with a wrinkle treatment?
As everywhere, the same applies here of course: the dose makes the poison. And it is far lower than would be needed for it to become dangerous for the body. We use only the highest quality and can report from many years of experience that there is no risk of poisoning. The treatment acts only locally, where it was applied, and nothing enters the bloodstream, nor does it have any effect on internal organs.
· Will I become addicted?
Wrinkle treatments are not addictive; the rumour probably arises because satisfied patients come back more often for a top-up when they are happy with the result. A clinical addiction is not to be feared, however.
· When will I see a result?
First results can be seen after 6 hours; after about 3 weeks the effect reaches its peak.
· How long does the result last?
After 4-5 months the effect slowly begins to wear off.
