‘My breasts are different sizes’
Almost every woman's breast shows slight asymmetries. But sometimes these are so clear that they are easy to recognise with the naked eye. Although this is not a physical health problem, it is often a psychological burden for the woman. In the course of a correction with or without an implant the breasts can be matched to one another.

An asymmetric breast – quite normal
It is not unusual for one breast to be larger and the other smaller or for one to lie higher than the other. Asymmetries of all kinds occur in almost half of all women. They often form as early as puberty or only after a further hormonal change such as a pregnancy. A genetic predisposition plays a role of course, as does breastfeeding on one side only. If breasts of unequal size become a burden for the woman, the wish for a correction is voiced.
The asymmetry can affect not only the breast directly but also the nipples or the areolae. These can differ noticeably in size and/or shape.
Correction of the asymmetric breast
In order to match the size of the breasts, two implants of different sizes can be used in the course of a breast augmentation with implants. With a matching procedure without implants, one breast can be reduced, for instance. The nipples are also adapted in the course of the operation. Here different operating techniques are combined individually in order to achieve the result that is ideal for you.
