Curvy at last - this is how breast surgery proceeds with us
We all know them – and envy them. Women with perfect proportions: a wasp waist, a firm bottom, a full decolletage. Whether in a bikini or in an evening dress: a beautifully shaped breast simply draws the eye. It is hardly surprising, then, that breast augmentation is one of the most popular treatments.

By now there are several options for Breast augmentation, and the treatment with the greatest scope is and remains augmentation with implants. Because the shape and size are predetermined, the final result can be planned better than, for example, with an augmentation using autologous fat.
How does the procedure work?
Before the operation
Every procedure begins with a detailed initial consultation. There patients get to know our specialist Dr.Dobrovits and discuss their wishes. The size and shape as well as the condition of the breast are analysed and measured, and photos of the initial situation are taken. So that you get an idea of your result, we carry out a 3D simulation.
During the operation
On the day of the procedure you are admitted to the renowned Rudolfinerhaus private hospital. Before the operation begins, the breast is marked up and the course of the operation is discussed once more. Our anaesthetist also comes discusses the most important points.
The procedure itself takes about 1-2 hours and is carried out under general anaesthesia. The operation takes place in one of the most modern operating theatres in Austria, in the reassuring surroundings of the private hospital.
The next day you are allowed to leave the hospital again, but first a follow-up talk is held with Dr. Dobrovits. Here you can ask questions once more and everything necessary is explained in detail. But for questions or uncertainties that arise later, there is always the possibility of contacting Dr. Dobrovits.
After the operation
Immediately after the procedure you are somewhat restricted physically; the breast already looks better overall than before, but it is still swollen and feels a little unfamiliar. That is no cause for concern, however, but entirely normal.
Here are the most frequent questions from our patients:
- Will I be in pain? Slight to moderate - a breast augmentation feels like severe muscle ache. If you lie still, it does not hurt. Changes of position or touching the breast are uncomfortable, however. To treat the pain I give you painkillers to take with you and explain to you exactly how they are to be taken.
- When will I see the final result? Since every body reacts differently, this cannot be said across the board. The breast often looks very good just a few weeks after the operation – and gets better with every day. The very last residual swelling is gone after 6 months.
- When will I be socially presentable? After 2 days
- When can I work again? Some patients go back to work as soon as 2 days after the procedure. Medically there is nothing against this either, if it is desk work. But since you are only physically fit again after about 3 weeks and feel somewhat low, this should be decided individually. Arm movements are also still restricted during this time.
- When can I do sport? After 3 weeks
- Are there any other inconveniences? Baths are not allowed in the first 3 weeks (showering is possible after 3 days). A sports bra has to be worn day and night for about 3 weeks. The shape of the breast and any swelling and discolouration will return to normal in the course of the first 2-6 weeks.
