Aesthetic medicine and the psyche
An aesthetic procedure can help towards increased self-esteem, greater self-confidence and a new zest for life. Patient voices about their treatments at the Kuzbari Centre.

A large nose, uneven proportions, drooping eyelids or a receding hairline are problems that are often dismissed too quickly as "purely cosmetic". Yet apart from the psychological burden, before their procedures patients also have to contend with limitations in everyday life.
Women with atypical silhouettes complain of problems finding clothes that fit, drooping eyelids can impair vision and some nasal deformities lead to breathing problems. But appearance also plays a large part. This sensitive subject is dealt with in the new book "Unters Messer oder auf die Couch" by Dr. Kuzbari.
Read here about some patients’ experiences after their treatment.
Rhinoplasty with Dr. Kuzbari
"I came to Doz. Kuzbari because I had a botched nose operation by another doctor behind me and was utterly desperate. But at the very first consultation I regained my confidence. Doz. Kuzbari is an incredibly sensitive person + a brilliant surgeon. By means of a complicated operation (taking cartilage from the ear, fascia from the temple) he managed to make my disfigured nose beautiful. I have gained an enormous amount of self-confidence from it and I am endlessly grateful to Doz. Kuzbari."
Liposuction with Dr. Saalabian
"I am 22 years old and have suffered from my saddlebags for several years. It always looked like too much and with sport alone it was impossible to get rid of them. I decided on a liposuction and, just 4 weeks after the operation, I can already say that it was the best decision of my life."
Acne therapy with Dr. Janig
"I already had acne at the age of eleven; after arduous and unsuccessful treatments (including Roaccutane at 18 and Ciscutan at 29), in my early to mid thirties I had given up hope of acne-free skin, until chance led me to Dr. Janig. At first I was a little sceptical about turning to a dermatologist in a centre for aesthetic medicine. But at my first visit it was immediately clear to me that, despite her professional expertise in aesthetic dermatology, Dr. Janig is also a "normal" and exceptionally knowledgeable skin specialist. Dr. Janig took a great deal of time for me and immediately accepted my decision not to want to have any further isotretinoin treatments (I had had a hellish struggle with side effects). Dr. Janig found the right medication for me and just a few weeks later my skin was considerably better than before. 3 years later I still use some of the preparations prescribed and occasionally I still have the odd spot – but in my late thirties I finally feel comfortable in my skin and no longer like a teenager in late puberty!"
