7 beauty tips for beauty sleep
Enough sleep is not only important for our well-being, it also contributes substantially to our ‘good looks’. During sleep, and especially in the deep sleep phase, what are known as growth hormones are released. These hormones stimulate the regeneration processes in the body and ensure, among other things, that our skin looks nicely firm and plump the next morning and that the dark shadows under the eyes disappear.

What we should nevertheless pay attention to before going to sleep, so that the time in bed benefits our beauty, we reveal to you here:
Use a pillowcase made of silk or satin.
That way creases stand no chance the next morning, and the hair is also less ‘tousled’ and prone to breakage.
Back sleepers have fewer lines.
Of course. Anyone who sleeps on their back and does not press their face into a pillow all night in a side sleeping position minimises the risk of waking up the next morning with unsightly marks and creases that can become imprinted in the skin in the long run. Lying on your back also lets the lymph fluid drain away better; better still if the head is positioned a little higher – that way swollen eyes stand no chance the next morning.
Enough moisture for freedom from lines during sleep.
In winter especially, because of the dry air from the heating, our skin often suffers from a lack of moisture. At this time of year it is advisable to set up a humidifier or to use a care product with hyaluronic acid as a night treatment, which binds the moisture in the body, plumps up the skin and thus smooths lines.
Cleansing is the be-all and end-all.
A thorough cleanse before going to bed is very important, so that the pores do not become blocked and no spots and blemishes form overnight.
Hair away from the face.
At night it is also advisable to tie your hair away from your face. With a loose plait or ponytail the natural oil of the hair cannot get onto the face and therefore cannot lead to blemishes either.
Too much alcohol and salt are poison for beauty sleep.
Alcohol dehydrates and salt binds the water in the body. The combination of these two factors in particular frequently leads to our waking up in the morning with swollen eyes. You can easily allow yourself a glass or two of wine with a light, fairly low-salt evening meal – anything beyond that will be presented to you in the mirror the next morning, with puffy eyes, while you brush your teeth ;)
Change your pillowcase.
Even on the finest pillowcase, bacteria build up after eight hours of sleep if it is not changed and cleaned regularly. Who wants to lay their face on a nest of bacteria?
Should your sleep have been a little too short lately, the Kuzbari Centre offers a remedy for small ‘creases’. You will find information about this at the following link:
