Checklist: this is how a professional consultation proceeds
The consultation is the beginning of a treatment and should therefore be conducted just as professionally and carefully as every other step. You can read what you should look out for in our article.

The decision to have an aesthetic treatment is often bound up with questions, worries and uncertainty. That is precisely why your doctor must take enough time to clear up your fears and to understand your wishes.
You will also find the following list in Dr. Kuzbari's book "Unters Messer oder auf die Couch", and it shows which points should definitely be dealt with at the initial consultation.
Checklist for a professional consultation
1) Did the treating doctor take enough time at the initial consultation?
2) Was I able to articulate my wishes and ideas precisely?
3) Were possible treatment alternatives discussed?
4) Did the doctor also understand and document my wishes?
5) Was I able to set out the motives for my decision to have surgery sufficiently and clearly?
6) Was I informed about the possibilities, risks and limits of the treatment?
7) Was I informed about the downtime, the nature and duration of the healing process?
8) Do I know where I will be operated on and do I know the safety standard of the operating theatres?
9) Was I informed whether the advising doctor will carry out the operation himself?
10) Was I informed about the type of anaesthetic and whether a professional anaesthetist will be responsible for it?
11) Were the changes in the time after the procedure explained to me, e.g. pain, swelling and haematomas?
12) If relevant for the procedure - was I informed about the materials used and studies on them?
13) Was a detailed and complete cost estimate drawn up?
14) Was I informed about the nature and duration of the aftercare?
