Breast augmentation: why the bra afterwards is so important
After a breast augmentation a bra has to be worn for at least 3 weeks. This support bra is particularly important in order to protect the breast and to hold the implant in the right place. The following article explains how to handle the support bra at home and when and how you should wear it.

From when does the bra have to be worn?
The support bra is put on immediately after the operation and should then be worn continuously for at least 3 weeks. After the operation you wake up already wearing the bra. You then also receive a second one from us so that you can wear the two alternately. The bra can be washed without difficulty at 30 degrees - without fabric softener - in the washing machine.
How do I wear the support bra correctly?
The bra is also called a compression bra – but that should not be taken too literally. Because when wearing it, it is particularly important to make sure that the bra fits properly. The bras are adjustable and should be set so that they are comfortable for you – not too loose, but not too tight either. You should feel comfortable in the bra and it should provide good support for the breast.
Since the bra is intended to optimise the result of the operation, it is important to wear it around the clock and to take it off only when you want to have a shower or to show your new breasts to your loved ones.
The only exception: breast augmentation with autologous fat
If a breast augmentation is carried out exclusively with the help of an autologous fat transplant, then no support bra should be worn. Fat that has been transplanted is sensitive to pressure. If pressure is applied here with a bra, the likelihood increases that the transplanted fat cells will not survive - which of course again goes hand in hand with a loss of volume in the breast. After a breast augmentation with autologous fat, either a very loosely fitting bra without an underwire can be worn, or no bra at all.
The following applies to all breast operations: underwired bras or push-up bras are forbidden for 6 weeks after the operation. This is very important in order to ensure the ideal result.
