Bronze Repair
The best therapy for pigment spots after the summer.

Being in the sun too long once or forgetting to reapply cream can be enough to cause pigmentation spots to arise after a mild sunburn.
A pigmentation disorder or melasma is an activation of pigment production.
This activation can have various triggers.
On the one hand the sun, but also hormones such as oestrogen/the pill or a pregnancy, inflammation such as spots, scars as well as chronic friction on the elbows or knees.
What helps against pigmentation spots?
In order to ‘repair’ the skin of the face and body after the summer, the right treatment method is particularly important.
Mag. Dr. Elke Janig and dermato-cosmetician Sonja Panagiotides have developed a combination therapy specially for this, which is ideally suited to treating pigmentation spots.
The treatment method in 3 steps
- In the first treatment step, a personal consultation is used to determine the current state of the patient's skin and to establish the cause of the pigmentation disorder.
- The basis of the treatment is very high protection against UVA and UVB radiation, with a sun protection factor of at least 50. This must always be applied in the morning, in winter as well as in summer. The newest data show that only UVA protection protects against the formation of pigmentation spots, visible light.
- The next step of the treatment involves bleaching creams with medical active ingredients. These are applied in the evening after cleansing for the duration of the therapy.
Subsequently, intensive treatments are carried out in regular sessions (approx. 8-10). The therapy comprises a combination of various treatments:
microdermabrasion – with the gentle Abrahydri method the dead skin cells are gently removed with the finest tree resin crystals, without irritating the skin too much.
Skinpen – with this new microneedling method not only is the skin appearance refined, but medical active ingredients for breaking down pigments can also be transported into the deeper layers of skin so that they unfold their effect even better.
TCA peels – light chemical peels with TCA acid remove the uppermost layers of skin.
IPL intense pulsed light and laser– right at the end of the therapy an IPL intense pulsed light or laser treatment is carried out. This should, however, be undertaken only in the autumn or winter months.
When is the best time to begin the therapy?
The longer the pigmentation disorder has been present, the harder it is to treat. It is therefore important to begin a cosmetic-dermatological treatment as soon as pigmentation spots first appear.
Treatments with IPL intense pulsed light, laser or chemical peels should be carried out only in the autumn and winter months, since there is a great danger that during the sunny months they can lead to a worsening of the pigmentation disorder.
The home therapy with the medical creams can be begun in summer as well – on condition that a high sun protection factor (SPF 50) is used.
